PRR club catering for all distances

POLOKWANE – Colinda Potgieter of Pietersburg Road Runners (PRR) says there is a growing number of runners who are trying their hand at road races, but who are not necessarily training for the Comrades Ultra Marathon or any other 42,2 km marathons.
She says PRR would like to create a data-base of these athletes in order to organise a training group to help them further their training skills and fitness levels.
All interested runners can contact Potgieter to arrange training sessions and programmess to suite them.
She said an informative evening will also be arranged to decide on routes, distances, training programmes and communication between group members. “Athletes must note that you don’t need to be fast or fit to join the training group, you must only have the will to run and reach your goals,” she said.
Runners can either send Potgieter an SMS at 082 8988 or send her an email at bearco@absamail.co.za. for information and training programmes.
PRR’s club house is situated in South Street, right next to the Polokwane Bowling Club. Potgieter says the club’s athletes take part in training sessions starting from Cycad Shopping Centre.
PRR weekly training sessions:
• Mondays, 05:00, hill training.
• Tuesdays, 04:45, slow running.
• Wednesdays, 17:45, time trial from club house.
• Thursdays, 05:00, recovery run.
• Saturdays, 05:00, slow distance run.
