Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs visited Polokwane over the weekend to scout for new talent for the second season of the reality show, which will start in April.

The auditions took place at Fusion Boutique Hotel, where 20 singers from Limpopo were selected to form the Limpopo choir, which will represent Limpopo in Clash of the Choirs led by choir master, Tshedi Moholo of Malaika.

The Limpopo choir will compete against choirs from Johannesburg, Bloemfontein, Durban, East London, Mpumalanga and Cape Town, and the winning choir will walk away with R750 000, of which R250 000 will go towards any charity organisation of the choir’s choice.

Moholo said she could not believe how much talent there was in Limpopo.

“I want to encourage all those who did not make it not to give up on their dreams.

“They are talented and have beautiful voices and must continue to chase their dreams,” she said.

Mnet online manager, Anele Mdzilwa said: “The second season of Clash of the Choirs is going to be fun and entertaining and viewers will enjoy the choral music”.

Beauty Mogale, who was among the hundreds of hopefuls who queued to audition said although she only made it to the second round, she gave her best.

“I am happy that Clash of the Choirs returned to the city and gave Limpopo a chance to be up there with other provinces.”
