NEW business, Alusha-Art, co-owned by local artist Anda-Lucia Jordaan and Sharon Stander, specialises in exquisite make-up for the following: bridal, matric farewell, fantasy, stage or special effects, ramp- and photographic modelling or any other special occasion.

They also offer creative face painting, glitter tattoos, murals for children’s rooms and pencil drawings from photographs.

Alusha-Art is dedicated to making a difference in the community and therefore came up with the idea of a Glitter Tattoo-A-Thon to be held together with Mrs. Polokwane 2014, Nadia du Preez, and Review as the sole media sponsor.

The Glitter Tattoo-A-Thon will officially be launched on Mother’s Day, May 11 at Mike’s Kitchen in Polokwane, will run until the end of May and can also be supported at the Alusha-Art stall at the Polokwane Show and Music Festival from May 28 to May 31. Alusha-Art will also be visiting various schools to promote the Glitter Tattoo-A-Thon.

Glitter tattoos are fun and exciting and last up to seven days if cared for correctly. Various glitter tattoo designs will be available at R40 each.

The first ever Glitter Tattoo-A-Thon will be held in aid of the “Lig vir Elmie” fund for Elmarie Kruger, a well known, loved and respected resident and outstanding hairdresser from Polokwane. Elmarie was diagnosed with colon cancer a few months ago and does not have a medical aid. She will start with treatment on May 22 and after the treatment will have to undergo an operation. Funds raised with the Glitter Tattoo-A-Thon will be utilised for her after care. There is a special bond between Elmarie and Sharon, as Elmarie has been Sharon’s hairdresser for the past 18 years and they have worked together on countless fashion- and hair shows.

As Sharon says “Elmarie is the most wonderful person with a heart of gold. Always willing to help others and go the extra mile.

“We are like family and she has always supported me through good and bad times. It is now my turn to show her how much I care for and appreciate her in my life.

“She is a fighter and will get through this difficult and trying time. With God all things are possible. Elmarie is very talented and creative when it comes to hair and we still have a few hair shows to plan. This is definitely not the end; the best is yet to come.”

Sponsors already on board for the Glitter Tattoo-A-Thon include Alusha Art, Review, Mrs. Polokwane 2014, Nadia du Preez, Mengouchi Haute Couture, Mike’s Kitchen and Bendor Builders.
