ON April 25, Mrs Polokwane, Nadia du Preez worked as a waitress for a day for charity.
Thanks to Nguni Pub and Grill, she had the opportunity to raise some funds for the upcoming annual Blanket Drive.
“It is always good to put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Although I have been a waitress before, I have never done it while I was pregnant.
“It was a real challenge but a great experience,” said Nadia.
Erika Bantjies of Salon Deo Volente, who is a sponsor of Mrs Polokwane 2014, and her team at Complete School of Hairdressing did Nadia’s hair for this experience.
“They made me feel really pretty, they are stars,” she said.
She said Polokwane residents opened up their hearts and their pockets and she was now able to donate the first 13 blankets to her cause.
“Every company and individual who contributed on Friday afternoon made a huge difference in someone less fortunate’s life. I would like to challenge each person and company in Polokwane to donate a blanket for this amazing cause. It feels amazing to do good where we can.”
