Kabelo builds his dynasty

POLOKWANE – Twenty-one-year-old Kabelo Raphukula from Seshego is making waves in Johannesburg as a hip hop musician and producer.

Known as Dynasty, he started making music in 2010 and released his music online.

“I have always loved and enjoyed music from a very young age. I would sometimes not play outside with my peers and would rather stay inside and listen to the radio, trying to understand how the music was made,” he says.

Kabelo matriculated from Dendron Secondary School in 2010 and studies law at the University of Johannesburg. He is currently studying part-time while focussing on his music career.

He says he will release his debut album, The Crossover, under his independent label, Imperial Artistry, which will feature the likes of US rapper, Ibn Inglor and producer, Chase N Cashe.

“I am very happy that my music will be heard by the public soon.

It is a short album with about seven to 10 songs. We still need to decide on that, but it is going to be a well produced album with good sounds. I am also featuring one of the best singers in South Africa, the wonderful Lulu.”
