POLOKWANE – It was a day full of fun and laughter for patients at Cansa’s Tough Living with Cancer (TLC) ward at the Pietersburg Provincial Hospital, when the SAPS mounted unit visited the patients last Tuesday.
Members of the unit spent the morning with the children, giving them rides on the police horses.
“We try to do something different and fun for the children once a month to entertain them and put smiles on their faces,” said TLC ward facilitator, Bobby Were.
He said this month’s theme for the fun day was horses.
“The children loved the horses,” he said.
The department of agriculture also visited the ward last Tuesday to empower patients’ mothers by showing them how to make a sustainable vegetable tower garden at home.
Were thanked Crazy Chameleon for the jumping castle, Garden Court Polokwane for the food, the police mounted unit for the rides and the department of agriculture for their time.
