Sibusiso Leope, popularly known as DJ Sbu, is a media personality, business person, and philanthropist who thrives on giving back to the youth of South Africa.

POLOKWANE – Sibusiso Leope, popularly known as DJ Sbu, is a media personality, business person, and philanthropist who thrives on giving back to the youth of South Africa.

He currently hosts the Sound Revival show on Metro FM and appears on popular game show Friends Like These.

He co-owns the record label TS Records with TK Nciza.

Leope owns a number of businesses under the Blaque Gemini Group, of which he is co-founder and executive chairperson.

He is the founder and chairperson of the Sbusiso Leope Education Foundation, which has given away 147 bursaries to pupils throughout 300 schools nationwide.

This powerhouse was also recently named by Forbes USA as 1 of 13 young African celebrities to watch in 2013.

Alongside his many accolades, is his recent achievement of being named as one of Mail and Guardian 2013’s 200 Young South Africans.

He has been named as Sunday Times’ Coolest Brand.

DJ Sbu is an undoubted force to be reckoned with within the fashion world.

He has been named by GQ Magazine as the Best Dressed Male in South Africa, a very prestigious award.

One of his biggest awards in 2013 was that of Role Model of the Year, which was bestowed at the Future Leaders Awards.

Leope has shaped youth culture and their thinking.

Despite his tough upbringing in Tembisa, he has overcome obstacles on his journey to being great.

He is also a personal mentor and supports 16 children, two of whom graduated in 2012 from the University of Johannesburg.

This entrepreneur has also ventured into other aspects of production and continues to inspire a generation of hopefuls from disadvantaged backgrounds with his enthusiasm, hard work and wisdom.
