World of Wheels Expo a feast of classic cars

The Mall of the North's recent classic- and new-car show, the World of Wheels Expo, proved to be a major first-time success for organisers, Arrie van Wyk, member of the Limpopo Classic Car Club and René van der Merwe, marketing manager of Mall of the North.

POLOKWANE – The Mall of the North’s recent classic- and new-car show, the World of Wheels Expo, proved to be a major first-time success for organisers, Arrie van Wyk, member of the Limpopo Classic Car Club and René van der Merwe, marketing manager of Mall of the North.

Van Wyk expressed his gratitude towards everyone who exhibited their vehicles at the expo, especially Nic van Niekerk, André Koornhof, Jannie van Waveren and Karel Diedericks, as well as all the car dealerships that participated.

He said Van der Merwe, who also visited the expo was suitably impressed and urged Van Wyk and his fellow car collectors to make this event an annual event at Mall of the North.

Van Wyk said a lot of people visited the exhibition that consisted of 174 classic cars.

He added that classic car collectors from Makhado, Mokopane and Tzaneen also came out in full support of this event.

Van Wyk said the aim of the World of Wheels Expo was to encourage classic car owners to display their cars from yesteryear at an event that catered for the whole family.

He said there were still many classic cars hidden away in Polokwane and exhibitions like the World of Wheels Expo was the ideal way to bring these car owners to the fore.

One lucky gr. 12 couple will win the chance of being driven to their matric farewell function in a classic car later this year.

The winner of this competition will be announced soon.
