Band rocks patrons’ dance shoes off

POLOKWANE – Residents were treated to an evening of pop music by the pop-rock band, Watershed at Tooters Cocktail Bar on Friday.
Watershed was founded in Johannesburg in 1998. Most famous for their signature song, Indigo Girl in 2002, they became a success when a German radio DJ heard the single while on vacation in South Africa and played it on air in Germany.
The band toured through Germany in June 2010 with another pop-rock band, MacStanley as part of the Rock Kick Off tour, which is hosted by German Music Television station, Imusic1. The band’s song, Fine Way was used in an advert for the restaurant chain, Wimpy restaurant in 2004.
Their accolades include having their album, In the Meantime chart for 33 weeks in the top 20 sales charts, as well as two nominations for the South African Music Awards in 2000. They have also been voted twice for the best South African Band of the year by People readers.
