Yende wakes women up

LINDA Ande Yende, writer of Wake up Woman!, which is his first book, met up with locals during a breakfast session at The Dish restaurant on Saturday.

Yende, who has a keen understanding of the female species, tells some uncomfortable truths in his book. “There are no formulae for relationships. But, too often, everybody outside the relationship can see when you are being taken for a ride. Everybody but you. So this book will literally wake you up, as you start noticing things about yourself and about your relationships, that were so obvious, but which you chose to ignore.

“It offers valuable insight into relationships and into the traps that women often find themselves in. You will not be able to put this book down. You will definitely hate some of the things it makes you realise about yourself and your relationship.

“Either way, every woman needs to read this page turner,” Yende said, describing his book.

He said there were things in his book that the reader would not want to hear. “There are things that may open wounds for you, in your heart. And there are things that will force you to come face to face with some realities that you have been trying to suppress. There will certainly be things that you strongly disagree with.

“The point is, this book is trying to shake you up and make you realise some things about yourself, that everyone around you can see, that only you refuse to see,” he said.

Wake up Woman! has been available for a month with over 1 000 copies having been sold already.

Yende, who has an easygoing and often humorous approach to life, is quite popular as a guest speaker at events.

He has a marketing background, and has worked as a key account manager for companies such as Coca Cola, Mondi Paper, Levi Strauss and Mercedes-Benz.
