Councillor by day, top DJ by night

GREATER Tzaneen municipal councillor, Dodo Mushwana’s passion for music is quickly turning him into a household name when it comes to music lovers.

Mushwana, also known as DJ Msholozi, is from Nkowankowa outside Tzaneen and is often seen spinning the discs at major events in the province. He said his love for music made him decide to become a DJ, and added that this helped him to get rid of stress.

His first official gig as a DJ was three years ago during the official opening of the Mzansi tavern in Nkowankowa and he had not looked back since.

Mushwana further said he could be seen spinning the discs at Jembe Tavern at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World in Polokwane every Wednesday night.

He recently performed during a Winter Rockers Party at the Nkowankowa Stadium, where he shared the stage with other top artists like Cassper Nyovest, Uhuru, Mandoza, Bojo Mojo, and Benny Mayengane.

“I am part of the Kalawa Jazmee Records stable and I am frequently in their studios in Johannesburg,” Mushwana said.

One of his ambitions as far as his music career is concerned, is to be at the top of the South African music charts.
