POLOKWANE – Matamanyane Casino Club is the winner of a casino card game tournament for the third consecutive time.
The club won the tournament, which was held in Ga-Semenya in Moletjie, on Sunday.
Matamanyane claimed the first spot after accumulating 115 points, followed by New-Lands with 75 points.
The third spot went to Semenya Casino Club with 70 points, followed by Piet Casino Club in fourth place with 63 points, while Rose Casino Club were in fifth place with 50 points. P.K. Casino Club were in sixth place on 48 points.
Matamanyane will defend the title on September 7 at P.K.’s home ground.
On August 31, a casino card game tournament will be held at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World, where the winners will walk away with a trophy and 24 cans of beer.
According to Edgar Mashitisho from Matamanyane, the tournament started late as other teams did not seem to understand the rules and regulations of the sport.
“Apart from all the conflicts we had, the tournament went well and it was well supported. We are very happy with the support we received from the communities and we hope they will continue to support our sport,” said Mashitisho.
He said the casino card game tournaments were held on the first Sunday of each month.
