Dogs get in on CANSA’s act

The very first annual Bark for Life event for the city took place at Genl Piet Joubert High School on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – The very first annual Bark for Life event for the city took place at Genl Piet Joubert High School on Saturday.

Bark for Life is a Cansa initiative to raise funds, in which dog owners bring their dogs along and walk laps of a set route with them.

Event organiser, David Booth from Cansa, said they intended having a Bark for Life event every year.

“We started off well this year, and were hoping for more people but we were happy with what we had. Next year Bark for Life will be bigger and better and a Bark for Life committee will also be appointed to help plan the event. The event raised R800 for Cansa.

“Cansa would like to thank the school for the use of their grounds, Le-Andrie Bezuidenhout for helping us organise the event, and Blue Fish studios for printing the flyers.”
