Muebi, Ranwedzi have gift of gab

Muebi of Duthuni, who is popularly known as "Vhaebi nga Dzavho", recently released a seven-track contemporary poetry album, Ndi Musidzana wa Tsilu.

POET Owen Muebi is fast becoming a household name in Limpopo.

Muebi of Duthuni, who is popularly known as “Vhaebi nga Dzavho”, recently released a seven-track contemporary poetry album, Ndi Musidzana wa Tsilu.

The album is a joint venture between him and a young poet, Elekanyani Ranwedzi, and together they are known as Muebi and Ranwedzi. Muebi who is a producer and presenter of Ndevhetsin, a current affairs show on Phalaphala FM, says poetry means so much more.

He says poetry is the song of life and death, the expression of pain and joy. He uses poems as words of comfort during funerals and expressions of joy during happiness.

The album includes poems such as Matudzi Matula, Mirero ya Vha-Venda, Tshima, Mbingano, Musidzana wa Tsilu and Pfunzo. He is also a comedian and an author. His book, Ndevhe a i na Tshitibi was published in 2008 through Kalahari Publishers.

In 2010, he released his first poetry album, Ndi Muvhenda.
