In one of the photos, the new station’s co-founder, Shonisani “Shabba” Muleya is seen sitting behind the microphone.
The photo was posted with the caption: “yours truly Ashifashabba motsetserepa chilling in the Energy FM On Air studio”.
The photo attracted hundreds of comments from Facebook users, who all said they could not wait for the station to launch.
“You guys are the voice of the voiceless. Diversifying broadcast media will give our developing communities enough options to express themselves.
“Thumbs up guys. From a proud MDST honours graduate from UL,” wrote Nthekgeng Mike Mogale.
“Media shall remain an integral part of our society and an agent in the creation of an information society and entirely in the development of our country.
Vhonani Vusiwana Mashamba wrote: “I love this, when are you going on air?”
Asked about release of the photos, Shabba said they were released to inform people about the station’s progress.
He said the launch was just around the corner as Sentech was in the final stages of building the signal tower.
“We have invested in fresh and new talent and we are excited to have the cream dela cream (sic)of young voices that are hungry to rock Polokwane and surrounding areas,” he said.
Energy FM which will broadcast 24 hours a day on the frequency 102.1 FM.
