Mulalo plays the role of Tshianeo on the soapie, Muvhango.
Born in Tsianda village outside Thohoyandou, she is also a businesswoman and an LLB student at the University of South Africa (Unisa).
Express spoke to Mulalo to learn more about her.
Who is Mulalo Mudau?
Mulalo is a person who loves staying indoors and just loves life.
Who did you look up to as a child?
I looked up to my father. I always looked to him for guidance.
Do you ever feel intimidated about being a celebrity, such as the lack of privacy or overwhelming fans?
Yes I do, because I am not really a people’s person, so it kind of gets to me when I am at the mall and fans stop me. I sometimes go out in disguise.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an actor?
People should have a passion for being in the limelight and not do this for fame. It is also important to have skills and knowledge about acting, so study for it.
If you could go anywhere with five people, who would you take and where would you go?
My mother, my sister, my partner, my friend, Millicent Makhado and my brother, and we would go to Paris.
What is your motto in life?
Nothing is for free. I believe one has to work hard to achieve the best in life.
What kind of child were you?
I was very naughty and a bully.
If you could live in some other place or time, where and when would it be?
I would have loved to stay on an island in the 60s.
If you had R1 million, how would you spend it?
I would start a shelter for orphans and invest the rest.
What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learnt?
You reap what you sow, everything that I have achieved so far is the fruit of my hard work.
If you could break the law just once and get away within it, which law would you break?
This is a tough question to answer, but I think it would be theft.
What is the happiest moment in your life?
The happiest moment in my life is when I am with the people I love.
Do you have any regrets?
No, I don’t have any regrets. I believe that every experience in life is a lesson.
