POLOKWANE – The community of Westenburg celebrated spring in style with the first-ever spring concert, which was organised by the Westenburg Women’s Foundation on September 27.
This unique event brought together young and old at Westenburg Secondary School’s open air stage for an evening of praise and worship, entertainment, motivational speaking, song and dance.
“We want to unite Westenburg with this event and say that we can do it, we have talent and that the future is bright,” said president of the foundation, Annatjie Kennedy.
The evening was a huge success with more than 300 people in attendance, including several honoured guests such as ward 19 councillor, Dorcas Madikoto.
The Watkins Sisters, Westenburg Community Choir, Sarafina Dancers, Khoisan Dancers, Mswati Dancers and a drama by Oratile Pre-Primary School were among the highlights of the evening.
More than 30 items on the evening’s programme entertained locals until late.
