Limpopo’s gospel diva, Patience Ntuli’s new album, In Your Presence, has been nominated for the seventh SABC Crown Gospel Awards, which will be hosted in Durban on November 23.
She is nominated in the best RnB gospel category.
“My nomination is an achievement and winning the award will be a bonus. I have only released two albums, Khanimambo and In Your Presence. Khanimambo was nominated twice for best Xitshonga album at the Munghana Lonene Awards,” she says.
Her manager, Luis Ntuli says Patience will stage a concert in Giyani on November 29 as part of her social responsibility programme.
He says the concert will benefit vulnerable children around Giyani.
“She will be joined by several Limpopo artists,” he says.
Patience was born in Giyani, and like most singers, she started singing in church at a very young age. Her love for singing developed and she continued to sing at Assemblies of God at N’wadzeku-dzeku village in Giyani.
“She continued to sing during her university days in Thohoyandou, where she completed a degree in cost and management accounting. She also completed a MBA at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in London. She never stopped composing songs during all her studies.
“Patience is currently a worship team leader at the Word Of Life Bible Church in Polokwane. Serving in the church worship team has sharpened her for her music and ministry,” says Luis.
“She is a natural song writer and composer. All her songs offer original beats.
“In order to enhance her writing and composition skills, she took piano lessons so she could be able to get first-hand experience on how the song should sound.”
Luis says although Patience has just recorded her second live CD and DVD, she has already written some new songs and will continue to write in preparation for the much awaited third album and DVD. .
“The songs she composes are in various languages including Xitsonga, Tshivhenda and Sepedi. She had 27 songs when she went into the studio for the first time. These were all the songs that the Lord put in her heart since 1988. By the grace of God she managed to squeeze 19 tracks into the first album, with some songs shortened due to the limited capacity of a disc. However all songs are available on the live DVD that was released in 2014. This means that her fans have more bonus songs and more time on the couch to watch the DVD,” he says.

Patience Ntuli has been nominated in the SABC Crown Gospel Awards.
