The new Citroën C1 is now available at MGM Motors at 106 Landdros Maré Street in Polokwane. The stylish C1 Airscape's retractable fabric roof slides all the way back to the rear hatch and can be closed in seconds.
POLOKWANE – THE new Citroën C1 heralds in a new era of city motoring, where the emphasis is on practicality and efficiency, but without sacrificing driver enjoyment.
With a cheeky personality, good road manners, exceptional manoeuvrability and low operating costs, getting around is never going to be so much fun as with the new C1.
This model reached South African showrooms on November 1 and, like its predecessor of which more than 780 000 examples were sold worldwide, is set to continue to offer an upbeat solution to urban mobility requirements in a thoroughly contemporary package.
Available initially as a highly specified five-door Feel model, the C1 combines dynamic and a lively design with a surprisingly spacious interior because of the compact exterior dimensions.
The front boasts key characteristics of Citroën’s latest models, with a new two-part headlamp and vertical LED daytime running lights. Geometric tail lights with a modern, three-dimensional effect are a highlight of its perky rear design.
Adding fashion appeal to the C1 range is the stylish C1 Airscape. At the touch of a button, a full-length, retractable fabric roof slides all the way back to the rear hatch and it can be closed in seconds.
Despite being one of the most compact cars on the market, the Citroën C1 is both versatile and practical and can carry up to four adults comfortably.
Its compact dimensions with an overall length of 3,46m and a width of 1,62m, while the wheelbase is a mere 2,34m apart with a 10m turning circle along with electric power steering, makes for easy handling and effortless city parking and manoeuvring.
The interior combines a vibrant design with user-friendly features. It boasts a range of convenience features and storage compartments.
The 196-litre boot is easy to access, with the parcel shelf folding away when the tailgate is opened. A 50/50 split rear seat provides additional flexibility and with them folded, the total luggage capacity increases to 780 litres.
South African customers can look forward to the new PureTech engine, which is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
This 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, 61kW petrol engine achieves a fuel consumption figure of 4,3 litres per 100km on the combined cycle, while emitting just 99g/km of CO² emissions.
Torque performance is 116Nm, and the C1 can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 11 seconds with a top speed of 170km/h. Servicing is only required every 20 000km.
With its low running costs, affordable price tag, city-friendly sizing, zesty performance and French flair, the new Citroën C1 is a perfect combination of freedom and fun driving.
The new Citroën C1 is now available at the MGM Motors Citroën dealership at 106 Landdros Maré Street in Polokwane.
