Sleeker TT Coupé is now on Audi Polokwane floor

AUDI Polokwane took off the wraps of the highly anticipated new third generation Audi TT Coupé in front of excited guests last Friday evening.

POLOKWANE – AUDI Polokwane took off the wraps of the highly anticipated new third generation Audi TT Coupé in front of excited guests last Friday evening.

If the first and second generation TT Coupés were something to rave about, the new TT Coupé will definitely appeal even more to compact sports car enthusiasts, with its new striking appeal and further advanced technologies.

Audi Polokwane, situated at Motor City on the N1 South, also introduced the new TT Coupé at the Mall of the North last Saturday where test drives could also be done.

The first and second generation TT Coupés were also revealed, with the aim of giving invited guests a glimpse of the history of these popular vehicles, and how they have transformed through time.

Compared to the first generation TT Coupé, Audi’s new generation compact sports car proves that this model is maturing well without losing its original design lines.

Xenon plus headlights now come standard on the new TT Coupé with LED headlights or Audi Matrix LED headlights also to be chosen as optional items.

The fuel flap on the right side panel with the circle surrounded by socket screws is a design that came with the first-generation TT. However, there is no nozzle cap beneath the flap. The fuel pump nozzle slots straight into the tank neck, a feature taken from Audi’s Le Mans car.

Lightweight, quick acceleration, superb handling capabilities and low fuel consumption makes the new TT Coupé certainly a consideration for compact sports car buyers.

The interior of the new Audi TT also went under the designers’ knife. Two other ingenious design and technically innovative tricks enabled the designers to create an instrument panel that is the first of its kind. The instrument cluster and the MMI screen have been combined to form a central, digital unit, called the Audi Virtual Cockpit.

All functions can be activated from the multifunction steering wheel without taking your eyes off the road. Just toggle the two switches to activate the navigation or map options, telephone, radio and other media menus.

The new Audi TT comes with a four-cylinder engine including turbocharging and direct fuel injection. This 2.0 TFSI petrol engine combines exhilarating power with excellent fuel efficiency. Start-stop is a standard feature on the new Audi TT.

The 2.0 TFSI is now available in two versions at Audi Polokwane:

• 169kW front-wheel drive.

• 169kW quattro.

It delivers a torque of 370Nm from between 1 600 to 4 300rpm.

The 2.0T FSI S tronic front-wheel drive can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5,9 seconds. The top speed is electronically governed to a mind blowing 250km/h.

The six-speed S tronic and quattro all-wheel drive sibling does the sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 5,3 seconds and its top speed is also governed to 250km/h.

The new Audi TT’s quattro permanent all-wheel drive system delivers ideal stability and traction for pure driving fun. Audi designers have been advancing and optimizing the quattro all-wheel drive especially for the new TT.

The Audi TT Coupé will be offered in South Africa with a significant level of standard equipment.
