Mokopane taxi violence claims another

The taxi feud between two rival taxi associations in Mahwelereng township in Mokopane outside Polokwane in Limpopo has claimed the life of a second person within a week

MOKOPANE – The taxi feud between two rival taxi associations in Mahwelereng township in Mokopane outside Polokwane in Limpopo has claimed the life of a second person within a week.
Charles Mogide, was shot and killed at the Mokopane taxi rank on Saturday. Mogide was among a group of the taxi association members who were inspecting the taxi rank amid the on-going taxi violence.
His killing follows that of a taxi owner, Gideon Fatane, last week. 
Meanwhile, police have arrested three people, including a taxi owner, in connection with the recent killing of Mogide.
Police spokesperson Mmadikgale Masingi says that they have confiscated four firearms, three allegedly belonging to suspects while the fourth belongs to the deceased.
Masingi says the suspects will appear before Mokopane magistrate’s court on Tuesday.
“Three suspects have been arrested for the case of murder. A man was allegedly shot when an argument erupted. The arrested suspects will appear before Mokopane magistrate court on Tuesday.”
The killings related to taxi feuds and politics in Mokopane are continuing unabated.
