ARTISTS were honoured with awards at the first annual Film, Arts, Music and Entertainment Awards (Fame) ceremony held at the University of Limpopo on Saturday.

LIMPOPO – ARTISTS were honoured with awards at the first annual Film, Arts, Music and Entertainment Awards (Fame) ceremony held at the University of Limpopo on Saturday.

The red carpet affair kicked off with anti-xenophobia songs performed by some of the province’s finest entertainers, which included Space Munna, Mizo Phyll and Percy Mukwevho.

According to Fame Awards founder and CEO, Matodzi Makananise, it was incredible to see the immense talent that came from Limpopo.

“We are very proud of every artist and celebrate them as winners who have put us on the map nationwide. The Fame Awards aims to recognise individual talent and profile artistry from the province, and are dedicated to the late gospel singer, Mpho Regal.

“The objective is to reward and promote artistic expression and creative performance in the province,” Makananise explained.

National Lotteries Board chairperson, Prof Alfred Nevhutanda, said it was exhilarating and humbling to give exposure to creative talent.
