Miss Matlala crowned
MALESIBA Matlala (18) has been crowned Miss Matlala.
LIMPOPO – MALESIBA Matlala (18) has been crowned Miss Matlala.
The pageant was held at Ga-Matlala Stumong last Saturday.
Voilet Manabile (21) was crowned first princess, while Alice Manaka (19) is the second princess.
Malesiba said nothing was impossible as long as one tried one’s best.
“Dreams do come true if you work hard and never let yourself down,” she said.
Tsakani Hlongwane, the chairperson of Matlala a Thaba Youth Group, which organised the event, said apart from crowning Miss Matlala, they wanted to raise money for FM Matlala Pre-school, Pay Point and Drop-in Centre in Vlakfontein.
“We raised R3 177, which will be used to renovate the centre,” said Hlongwane.
She said the pageant gave the contestants a platform to shine.
“We wanted to empower them. We would like to thank Ivy ‘Metcalfe’ Selolo, who coached the contestants,” she said.
