POLOKWANE – Residents in and around the city of Polokwane have a lot to look forward to this weekend.

• On Saturday athletes from the province will compete in the Savannah Mall 3-in-1 race, which is organised by the Polokwane Athletic Club. Athletes can choose to compete in the 5 km fun run, 10 km run or the 21 km run.

• Outdoor enthusiasts will be treated to a 4×4 family fun day at the Limpopo 4×4 Club on the Silicon road on Saturday. The day promises to have loads of excitement and entertainment, so bring the family along to join in on the activities.

• The clash of ‘swords’ will fill the air on Saturday with fencers aiming to knock each other down during the Limpopo fencing championships at the sport and recreation centre situated in Burger Street.

• Rugby fans, make ready to dust off your jerseys and get ready to support the u/15 and first division rugby teams as they compete in the Limpopo rugby finals. The u/15 team will compete at 10:00, while the first team will battle it out at 13:00 at Tom Naudé Technical High School.

• Golfers will take off to the fairway as they compete in the Rotary 100 betterball stableford golf challenge at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.

• Food lovers can look forward to the Mike’s Kitchen birthday celebration competition to be held at the restaurant at The Farmyard on Saturday afternoon.

• Hockey fans can travel to the Curro Heuwelkruin sports fields on Saturday to enjoy some competitive hockey.

• Residents can spectate the grace and skill of both the riders and their horses during the BB show jumping at the Blouberg Ryskool.

• The Springboks will take on New Zealand in the rugby championships on Saturday. The game between the two rivals will start at 17:05.
