THE Color Run will be in Polokwane in August, ready to paint the city in bright colours.
The Color Run will paint the city red, blue, green, pink and purple on Saturday, August 15. It is the happiest 5km on the planet and is brighter, shinier and happier this year.
“The Color Run is bigger and better than ever and that’s thanks in part to the fact that South Africa’s happiest bank, Capitec Bank, has come on board as the headline sponsor,” Leon Swanepoel, event producer of The Color Run South Africa, said.
Colour runners can expect some surprises, with this year’s run including a sprinkle of glitter and a few other surprises. Participating in this year’s most anticipated event will be done in the true spirit of Ubuntu.
The Color Run is a feel good event. Colour runners of all shapes and sizes happily go from wearing pristine white clothing, to being covered in prismatic colour.
At each kilometre mark, a different colour of powder fills the air and covers the participants, creating an ever-increasing spectrum of colour and beauty. At the finish line, the colour festival kicks off and the air is filled with millions of vivid colour combinations as participants get in on the colour throwing fun as well.
Capitec Bank head of communications, Charl Nel, said the bank was was really excited to be on board with The Color Run. “We share the same values. Like The Color Run, we also believe in health, happiness, individuality, giving back, living life in technicolour and having fun while caring about the community. We’re working hard to ensure the most colourful day out in Polokwane and we can’t wait to be there,” Nel said.
Every runner will receive a R200 voucher from Takealot.com for the purchase of The Color Run powder and merchandise, as well as a R200 voucher from Superbalist to be redeemed against a minimum spend of R250.
