NATIONAL –  An elderly woman in the West Rand of Johannesburg faked a heart attack during a house robbery, causing the robbers to panic and flee the scene.

According to Citizen, 74-year-old woman, Pat Watson, said three unknown men broke into her flat and her daughter’s house in Rantenbal last month.

After keeping her inside her flatlet for over an hour, the suspects ordered her to her bedroom.

When Watson realised they were going to take everything valuable they could get their hands on, she realised she had to remove herself from the situation. She asked the suspect who was guarding her to leave her on the pavement.

“I told him that I was having a heart attack and that he should let go otherwise he will be charged not only for theft but for murder as well,” she said.
