Brazo Wa Afrika is the ultimate DJ

After two albums, popular club DJ and music producer, Keletso Manyaka, looks forward to bring more good music and vibes to his followers

POLOKWANE – After two albums, popular club DJ and music producer, Keletso Manyaka, looks forward to bring more good music and vibes to his followers.

The two released albums are Ultimate Fusion and the Limpopo edition of the Soulcandi Selektor Series.

Manyaka, better know as Brazo Wa Afrika, was born in Burgersfort.

He is mainly known for his deep house music and as producer for a number of artists ranging between hip hop, kwaito and afro pop.

He started his music journey at 14 when he discovered his passion for music as a teenager.

“At that age I started experimenting with a computer and music-making software called Fruityloops. I haven’t looked back since,” he says.

The self-taught music producer and club DJ compiled his first demo at the tender age of 16, which he presented to a number of labels with limited resources.

“One of those labels was Device Record Entertainment.

“My unique sound caught their attention and they immediately signed me to the label based in Polokwane.

“It created an opportunity to work with a number of well-known local DJs and producers, including DJ Lordvine who currently works at Thobela FM,” says Manyaka.

At the same time, he operated independently and produced music for the three biggest house music record labels in South Africa, namely Soulcandi, House Afrika and Sheer House.

His first debut album received huge response from the fans of house music and the wider music arena.

The album was released in April 2013 and has so far sold close to 12 000 copies.

Manyaka’s album was released under House Afrika’s record label anchored by the legendary Tim White and Vinny Da Vince.

“My second album titled Soulcandi Selektor Series was released in June 2015 under South Africa’s biggest house music label, Soulcandi. It is currently doing well in stores and on digital media.” Brazo Wa Afrika worked with local musicians, Chymamusique and Punk Mbedzi, on this triple disc album.

Besides his own albums, Brazo Wa Afrika has collaborated on a number of other artists’ albums, mainly from the three top house music record labels in the country.

“Currently I’m working on DJ Shimza’s (YFM) album and a host of other artists including Chapell (International Vocalist),” he added.
