Royal Heritage Festival rocked Vhembe

LIMPOPO – With a line-up that included top musicians in the South African music industry, the fourth annual Phalaphala FM Royal Heritage Festival at Nandoni Dam was the place to be on Saturday.

The festival aimed to celebrate Heritage Month and to encourage people to learn more about their heritage and culture.

The star-studded festival saw performances from the likes of Hugh Masekela, Stimela, Ray Phiri, Kelly Khumalo, Malondolo, Khakhathi and Friends, Colbert Mukwevho, Tira, KO, Solly Mahlangu. There was also a surprise performance by Thokozani ‘L’vovo Derango’ Ndlovu with his track Bayang’sukela/ Resista which hade everyone wild and begging for more.

DJ’s such as Mobi Dixon, DJ Fisherman, Major League, DJ Tira, Dr G, DJ Nipro, and many more local artists showcased their talent on the decks.

Partygoers celebrated until the early hours of the morning.

Partygoers had the opportunity to meet their favourite SABC 2 personalities as Muvhango actors, Gabriel Temudzani, Lesley Musina, and Macdonald Ndou also graced the event.

According to Shandukani Nesengani, event organiser, this event was very successful.

“The event provided the province with an opportunity to unify its citizens and their neighbouring countries to celebrate our rich cultural heritage and promote tourism in the province. Partygoers enjoyed great music supplied by a host of South African talent,” said Nesangani.
