Get started and get in shape

Personal trainer, Heinrich Wolhüter from Body Life gym in Polokwane offers some valuable tips on living a healthier lifestyle

POLOKWANE  – Heinrich gives a couple of simple exercises that can help you improve your fitness level and help you stay in shape.

He singled out five exercises: push-ups, squats, burpees, crunches and shuttle runs, which should be done a total of 10 times each (10 reps) in the first set. You can then reduce the number of times you do each exercise (nine times in the second set, eight times in the third set, and so on). You then end the routine with one rep each.

The exercises should be done consecutively, but if your fitness level isn’t high enough yet, you can rest between sets for 30 seconds to one minute.

“As long as you push yourself and move quickly between the exercises, you’ll be able to get through this workout in about 15 to 30 minutes,” says Wolhüter.

This is a quick exercise routine that will really work up a sweat and improve your fitness. These exercises can also be done in the comfort of your own home.
