POLOKWANE – The ex-civil engineering student at Vaal University of Technology intends to make a success of his film. Even though he has no experience or expertise in the film industry, he banks on his passion to make the film a success.
“Right now I am not fazed by what I don’t have to make this movie a success, I choose to use whatever I have at my disposal,” he explained.
The hour-long film is expected to be released at the end of this month following ten months of shooting in Polokwane.
“I was inspired by my Energy FM mentor, Shonisani Ashifashabba Muleya at the 2014 Polokwane Film Festival to believe in my dreams of making films and to seize the opportunity. I wish Shabba could assist me further to help this movie reach a wider audience. All I’m asking in addition to that is the support of our people,” he added.
The nyaope lifestyle storyteller has made several sacrifices to attain the equipment necessary to make his film possible.
“I had to make loans with my family to buy the equipment. It does not bother me because I plan to make it big in the film industry. I see a bright future in the midst of many stumbling blocks stacked before a successful filming and producing career,” said Mabotja. He is currently employed at the bank but has high hopes for his endeavours onto the silver screen.
