Ambition is Ororiseng’s daily bread

It was Gary Blair who once said advancement only comes with habitually doing more than you are asked

POLOKWANE – Ororiseng Mulaudzi is a young woman who also lives by this philosophy. She is a Energy FM presenter, and says she is driven by the fear of being average.

According to her, she was born to be much more than that.

The 23-year-old grew up in a small village called Tshisaulu about 5km from Thohoyandou. At the end of 2010, she decided to go after what she wanted and pursue a career in radio.

“I love music and engaging with people and I believe in choosing a career that is in line with what you enjoy,” she explains. She says she is inspired by different people and different situations she is faced with.

“I find great inspiration from my parents. I also look up to Oprah and even fictional book characters,” she says.

She shared some of her most memorable moments with Review Bonus: “interviewing Hugh Masekela, Zahara and the premier of Limpopo, Stanley Mathabatha, have to be the stand out moments. I think also getting positive messages from the listeners of my show is one of the most heart warming gestures that I hold close to my heart”.

As a young woman on the move, Ororiseng admits she is still experimenting with her style. “My style is experimental, but still simple. My black and white print Kimono is one of my favourite clothing items and I often end up wearing it too often,” she adds.

She has high aspirations for the future of her career and she plans on taking over the media world. One thing that is certain is she is going to be around for a very long time.

She says she loves working at Energy FM. “It’s a great place to learn and grow as a budding broadcaster. It’s an urban community radio station unlike any other,” Ororiseng explains.

Her advice to her fans and young women out there is to follow their dreams. “Be yourself. Work on constantly improving yourself and be kind to yourself,” she says.

In her spare time she enjoys doing the simple things in life like reading, running, and listening to music.
