Lethabo’s drive to succeed
Host of Energy FM's Drive Show has seen the world and is eager to share her views and experiences with the listeners
POLOKWANE – Energy FM Drive Show host Lethabo Ramokgopa is a highly-spirited, well-travelled woman who knows all about hard work.
The 34-year-old grew up in Polokwane and has a string of qualifications to her name. She studied at the University of Limpopo where she obtained a BA in psychology and French.
She also attended Vidilingua Language School in Amsterdam where she studied Dutch, and the University of Tubingen in Germany, where she completed a course in German Studies.
“My introduction to radio was at the University of the North (Radio Turf) in 2004 where I was a newsreader and later a co-host for the station’s breakfast show. The power of radio inspired my interest because you can change many people’s lives without meeting them face to face and as a community worker, that motivated me because I knew that through radio I could achieve a lot,” she said.
There’s no doubt that Lethabo loves being on radio and she said one of the best things about it is the fact that people get to see the world through her eyes.
She says women around the world are faced with prejudices but that should not stop them from being strong and achieving their goals. According to Lethabo, a strong woman is one who is capable of standing up for herself and others.
