A graceful newsreader passionate about radio
The newsreader says she is motivated by the knowledge that the listeners appreciate her work
POLOKWANE – Energy FM’s latest recruit, 37-year-old Grace Teffo, is already making her mark after just three months with the station.
Grace hails from Lepotlako village near Ga-Maraba. She says what she enjoys most about being on radio is interacting with different people.
“Knowing that people are listening to me even though they can’t see me is something I value. It makes me want to wake up everyday and ensure I do my work perfectly,” she said.
She says she puts her best foot forward in everything she does.
“The other thing that keeps me motivated is knowing people appreciate what I do,” she continued.
Grace is of the opinion that today’s youth have lost hope in everything and believes they need courage to compromise on the less important things in life. She says they need strong leadership to steer them in the right direction.
Although she sees many hurdles in society, Grace says she believes that there is always a silver lining.
“Life holds many challenges, that means we should all learn to recognise the good in every situation. The issue of unemployment is very bad in our country and it holds us back. If I could I would make sure more jobs were created for the younger generation. I think this will reduce the number of crimes taking place in our country,” she concluded.
