POLOKWANE – No one can deny that avocados are slowly taking over as one of the most popular fruits in the world and given the many different ways you can eat them, they truly are a super fruit.

Guacamole is an avacado-based dip or salad first created by the Aztecs, in what is now Mexico, and has become a party dip favourite around the world. This easy to make dip is perfect on Nachos or as a delicious dip for your chips.

All you really need for guacamole is ripe avocados, salt and a little lime or lemon juice but why not go all out and try this delicious recipe and impress your friends at your next get together?

Ingredients

  1. 7.5ml olive oil
  2. 1 x KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot
  3. 3 x ripe avocados, mashed with a fork
  4. 2 x cloves garlic, crushed
  5. 2 x tomatoes, chopped
  6. 2 x spring onions, chopped
  7. 45ml sour cream
  8. 15ml fresh coriander, chopped
  9. 2.5ml chilli powder (optional)
  10. 15ml lime juice

Method

  1. Gently heat the olive oil in small pan. Add the KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot and stir until the stock has melted into the oil. Set aside to cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Place the stock pot mixture and all other ingredients in a blender. Blend in short bursts. Take care not to fully liquidize as the pieces of avocado and tomato will enhance the texture of the guacamole.
  3. Garnish, if desired, with additional chopped spring onion and some diced avocado and serve with tortilla chips
