Mercurius, Mitsubishi, Jeep dealership opens

This Saturday marks the grand opening of the new state-of-the-art Mercurius Motors Polokwane Mitsubishi and Jeep dealership in the city.

POLOKWANE – The new dealership, which also incorporates American brands such as Dodge and Chrysler on a smaller scale, is situated across the street from the current Mercurius Motors Polokwane dealership.

Chris Botha, new vehicle Sales Manager for Jeep and Mitsubishi, says the new venue boasts an array of better offers for their clients, one of which is bigger and more convenient parking.

Botha invites new and existing clients to join them at their new premises to test drive the latest Mitsubishi and Jeep models available.

“One of the vehicles available for test drive is the all-new Mitsubishi Triton, an exciting bakkie that is certain to ruffle the feathers of other bakkie brands on offer in South Africa,” Botha adds.

The completely redesigned Mitsubishi Triton is viewed to be the most advanced bakkie ever to be developed by Mitsubishi with its balanced combination of true SUV-like road manners and heavy-duty workhorse capabilities.

In South Africa, the range will be premiered by the Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 Di-DC MIVEC Double Cab.

Some of the standard comfort features in the new Triton are:

• Cruise control.

• Dual-zone auto air-conditioning.

• Reverse camera.

• Electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

• Tilt and telescopic steering wheel adjustment.

• Leather upholstery.

Power delivery is rated at 133kW at 3 500rpm with the torque peaking at 430Nm at 2 500rpm. Fuel consumption is rated at 7,6 litres per 100 km in a combined cycle.

The new 2.4 MIVEC turbo-diesel delivers power to the rear (2H), or all wheels (4H if 4×4) through the choice of a shorter-shifting six-speed manual gearbox, or a five-speed automatic transmission.

A range of dynamic safety systems are available on the Triton.

On the double cab versions, there are:

• Active Stability and Traction Control.

• ABS and EBD assisted brakes.

• Hill Start Assist (HSA).

One of the truly decisive features available on the new Mitsubishi Triton is the manufacturer’s cutting-edge version of the renowned Super-Select II four-wheel drive system. Seen first in the latest iteration of the Mitsubishi Pajero, the Super-Select II system offers the driver the choice of four distinct driving modes from a console-mounted selector.

Four double-cab models in 4×2 or 4×4 configuration and with the option of a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic gearbox, will be available for sale immediately.

The new Triton Double Cab enters the market at R479 900 and all models are introduced with a five-year or 90 000 km service plan and three-year or 100 000 km manufacturer’s warranty.

Price range:

• Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 Di-D 4×2 (man) – R479 900.

• Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 Di-D 4×2 (auto) – R499 900.

• Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 Di-D 4×4 (man) – R539 900.
