The Limpopo K9 Academy offers free training sessions every Saturday for all dog breeds

POLOKWANE – For centuries mankind and dogs have had a profound relationship that has stood the test of time and it is no wonder that dogs have been dubbed man’s best friend.

The Limpopo K9 Academy hosted a puppy training session at Sterkloop Tackle and Pet Shop which was open to all breeds on Saturday.

Limpopo K9 Academy member, Alta Visser, trains nine-month-old Panda.

The training course included obstacles, protective training, detection, tracking, and socialising.

An instructor at K9 Academy, Linda Dryer, said it is extremely important for dogs of all ages to be properly trained.

“People need to be aware of how to train puppies as many dogs are unruly which makes it even more important that they be taught how to behave. The earlier you start training, the better,” she explained.

Linda said they offer free training sessions every Saturday for all dog breeds.

Karina Botha has some fun in the sun with her dogs, Tipsy and Taylor.

“Within just a few weeks of training with us, dog owners can already see the difference in their dogs. We have the same obstacle courses for puppies and adult dogs, however, we try to make the puppy training sessions a bit more playful,” she added.
