Johanna Mmola delivers a passionate performance during the Poets United semi-finals. It is no surprise she was selected to go on to compete in the finals.
POLOKWANE – The semi-finals of the Poetry United in association with BONUS/Review and the Polokwane Tourism Association set the Library Gardens auditorium alight last Tuesday.
This contest saw poets from all ages and walks of life take to the stage to recite their works for the chance to secure their spot in the finals.
Poets through to the finals:
• Lesedi Maja – primary school category.
The judges and organisers congratulate the two finalists in the primary school category. In front are finalists Lesedi and Mmathapelo Maja. At the back are Besley Boshielo (organiser and master of ceremonies), Lethabo Ramakgopha (judge), Anne Molope (judge), Thabo Letwaba (judge) and Gerhard Franken (organiser and sponsor representative, Ocean Basket).
• Mmathapelo Maja – primary school category.
• Molatelo Sematla – high school category.
• Mmamoraka Mogano – high school category.
The high school finalists are congratulated by the organisers and judges. They are Besley Boshielo (organiser and master of ceremonies), Lethabo Ramakgopha (judge), Mmamoraka Mogano (finalist), Anne Molope (judge), Molatelo Sematla (finalist), Thabo Letwaba (judge), and Gerhard Franken (organiser and Ocean Basket sponsor representative).
The finalists in the adult category, Angello Tsoga and Johanna Mmola are congratulated by the organisers and judges. The finals set for 27 March at 18:00 will take place at Ocean Basket Mall of the North and it is recommended to book your seats for the event as seats are limited.
