As the title suggests, the film tells the story of McLaren, the New Zealander who founded the McLaren Motor Racing team. McLaren is directed by Roger Donaldson with Dwayne Cameron playing the role of McLaren for the dramatised scenes.
The inspirational documentary will recount McLaren’s pioneering spirit, unwavering tenacity and endless passion for motorsports.
The 32-year-old McLaren died in a crash while testing an experimental car of his own design at a track in Goodwood, England on 2 June, 1970.

The racing team that bears his name survived him, becoming one of the most successful in Formula One history.
