The St. Albans College Road Show will soon be making their way to Polokwane as they are now entertaining different parts of Limpopo with their cultural group.

POLOKWANE – The group is inclusive of 50 entertainers from the choir, barbershop, band, drum circle, gumboot dancers and many other acts.

The St. Albans College’s Director of activities Nico du Plessis, explained that with their dynamic and light hearted performances, this promises to be great entertainment for the province. The choir has competed in the World Choir Games held in Austria in 2008, acquiring a silver medal. The choir alongside with the barberbershop group of entertainers and other performers also toured through Europe, the US and China in 2008, 2010 and 2015.

“Our choir has 78 members and 35 of them are in the road show. The performances are vibrant and exciting and often get the audience’s feet tapping and they also sing along as we usually sing and dance to familiar and well-known songs,” Nico added.

He further added that the wide variety in their performances are meant to appeal to the taste of individuals of all ages and promises to be an event which will remain in the audience’s memories for an extended period of time. The choir’s music ranges from religious to rock and African rhythms. The barberbershop, trained by St. Albans College’s art and drama Director Mark Stenhouse, ranges from gospel tunes to more modern jazz and rock tunes.
