[WATCH] Try the ‘THE EAGLE’ pose with Yoga instructor, Lerato Maketa
Lerato will be sharing a different Yoga move with Review each week, starting from beginner poses and gradually advancing to the more difficult poses.

Benefits of the Garudasana (the eagle) pose
The benefits include: stretching of the calves, ankles, legs and buttocks. It also improves concentration, promoting stability, balance and flexibility on the arms. Should be avoided by people suffering from varicose veins or they can only do the arms and not the legs.
According to Lerato Maketa, pharmacist and advanced Yoga instructor, it’s a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and meditation or relaxation.
“I want people to know that Yoga is a journey and not a destination and it has to be enjoyed. For this reason, one may not compare nor compete with others in achieving poses.
