Energy FM team talk PSL

This week the Energy FM team tackles questions from the listeners regarding football.

• Hi, I just want to know if the fans plan out what they say on air because it sounds so natural and nice? Lethabo Maake, Zone 1.

Mologadi Kganyago: “No, we are crazy, all the things we say is out of our natural craziness. Our aim is to keep the fire burning and to set the programme alight every Friday.”

Sebastian Meso: “No we don’t plan, we just go with the flow but we are driven by passion and love for sports.”

Mafiwa Mamlambo: “It just comes naturally and we’re always ready since we sleep and eat sports.”

Vho-Rowen: “We agree to disagree like recently on the Ajax issue.”

Dolo: “The fans got all what it takes and are ready for anything that comes their way.”

Nathi Modiba: “It’s something that is in our blood since we love sports and we understand football.”

• What do you guys think about the Ajax Cape Town issue? Elliot Masenya, Makotopong.

Nicky: “Our Premier Soccer League (PSL) management is very weak. That matter wasn’t even supposed to be dragged out, they only started to be active just after Ajax threatened to interrupt the season.”

Elliott Malesela: “They withdrew the case so we can’t talk about them more.”

Mpho Wicket Keeper: “Ajax just wasted our time and knew all along that they do not have a case.”

Shakment (Choice FM): “I blame the PSL on all these matters. They take things for granted and this is a replica of what is happening in our Amateur Leagues, had Fifa intervened we would be talking a different story. If Fifa ordered a replay of the Bafana Bafana and Senegal match, how about the playoffs?”

• Do you find working with Poelano Setwaba nice? Mary, Turfloop Unit C.

Shakment (Choice FM): “It’s great to work with our first lady. She is good and sometimes she just gets stuck in the middle of a heated debate. Very good to work with her.”

Dolo: “She is actually giving us the vava-voom because she doesn’t intimidate us neither is she impatient.”

Vho-Rowen: “Working with Poelano it’s easy and simply because she is focused and she knows sports.”

Nathi Modiba: “Working with Ms P is a good thing since she understands us and we also know what she wants, and not forgetting her beauty and smile.”

Mafiwa Mamlambo: “We find it attractive and enjoyable to work with such a down to earth person and she reminds us of the days we used to work with Maphuti Mashamaite the former host of Sports Live@6 show. They are very knowledgeable about the whole sports fraternity.”

• Which team do you think will perform well this season in the PSL? Tommy, Seshego Zone 1.

Mologadi Kganyago: “Watch Micho cook stones for Pirates.”

Sebastian Meso: “Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns and of course with Pirates winning a double if not a triple.”

Nicky: “I think Pirates is the team to watch this season but that’s only if they can continue where they left off last season. They had an outstanding performance under their new coach in his first season at the club.”

Mpho Wicket Keeper: “This is gonna be a tough season but I anticipate the competition to be between Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns. But I put my money with Chiefs.”

Shakment (Choice FM): “I see Pirates coming out with guns blazing this season but my gut feeling tells me Black Leopards. Leicester has done it in England, Leipzig has done it in Germany and Leopards will do it in Mzansi.”
