The Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 made a donation of R15 500 to the Limpopo Alcohol and Drug Centre of the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (Sanca) at a ceremony at the Polokwane Bowls Club on Monday.
Director of the centre, Amanda Swart said that the donation was highly appreciated and would be used to assist babies with foetal alcohol syndrome (FAS).
Club president, Johan Joubert said that they had noted that FAS was quite common in the province and felt a need to contribute towards this worthy cause. “We want to make a difference and change people’s lives for the better,” he said.
