As advocates of global education, E.H. Hassim Hardware Polokwane extended a helping hand to Dikwata Primary School in Nchichane village, Mankweng by donating paint, a fence and fascia board as part of Mandela Day celebrations last Thursday.
Store marketing manager Tawanda Mashapa indicated that this was part of the store’s social responsibility programme. He added that the paint donated would be enough to paint two classroom blocks while the fencing material would be put to good use to protect the school compound.
Mashapa said they were delighted by the smiles on the faces of both educators and learners on the day of the delivery. He explained that the school had written to the outlet requesting assistance with regard to the materials donated and that they did not think twice before agreeing to make the donation as the company strongly advocates global education.
Principal Simon Maphalle emphasised that the donation was indeed a blessing from God because it has always been his dream to see the school on a good standard. He indicated that learners would soon enjoy fresh vegetables from the school garden because the fence will protect the plants from damage by livestock. Maphalle went on to thank E.H. Hassim Hardware Polokwane for assisting the school as he mentioned that learners will be proud of their institution.
He concluded by saying the parents would paint the classrooms and put up the fence in due course.
