The atmosphere of Sophiatown in Polokwane

Let the good times roll at Jembe Tavern during the seventh annual Kofifi Dance Movement

POLOKWANE – Saturday, 26 October is around the corner, so let the good times roll at Jembe Tavern during the seventh annual Kofifi Dance Movement.

Jembe at Meropa is set to be filled with gentlemen in their finest suits and ladies donned in their best swing skirts.

A variety of old school music and old attire will be on display at the Kofifi Dance Movement which will have surprise DJs as part of the entertainment line-up.

Fortune Maswanganyi, organiser, said the dance movement has grown from strength to strength. “This is the show that showcases the beauty and glamour of African people. We want to remind people that black is beautiful, and we must be proud of our heritage. The aim of the event is to take the crowd down memory lane. We want people to experience the atmosphere of Sophiatown. We want the crowd to feel the music, the poetry and the dances while they connect with each other,” said Maswanganyi.
