What2Watch: This week’s worth-the-watch

Here is Review’s rundown of what to stream on Showmax and Netflix this week.

POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Review has put together a list of shows you should stream on your favourite platform.

What to Watch this week on:

Showmax:

Series: Industry

Created by former bankers Mickey Down and Konrad Kay, Industry follows new bankers Harper (Myha’la Herrold), Yasmin (Marisa Abela) and Robert (Harry Lawtey) as they forge their identities within the sex- and drug-fuelled pressure cooker environment of Pierpoint & Co’s London office. The market is ripping and Pierpoint’s back-to-work-or-else mandate has the post-COVID trading floor more charged up and paranoid than ever. New US management will be gasoline on the flames – an injection of cross-Atlantic energy that lights a fire under each and every employee.

Movie: The wrong girl

The story follows fancy and flash Fhatu being kidnapped (it’s part of her plan) by three bumbling criminals, who think that they’ve hit the jackpot and their boss will be happy. In-between the comedy – like all three forgetting to bring Fhatu to their safe house – there’s a serious message: That human trafficking is real and many innocent people lose their freedom and lives to the crime.

For the kids: Guess How Much I Love You

Based on the beloved picture book, this award-winning animated series illustrated in beautiful watercolours follows Big Nutbrown Hare and his son Little Nutbrown Hare, who live happily together and always look for ways to show their love for each other.

Netflix:

Series: Heartbreak High

An incendiary mural exposes everyone’s secret hook-ups at Hartley High. Its author, Amerie, has to grapple with the messy fallouts as a total outcast.

Movie: Father Stu

After a failed boxing career and a near-fatal motorcycle wreck, a man finds healing in Catholicism and decides to become a priest. Based on a true story.

For the kids: Dogs in Space

Fetch — a new planet for us all! With Earth in danger, desperate scientists send genetically enhanced dogs into space to find a new world to call home.
