Caps of cuteness: Create animal faces with bottle caps

With just a few simple materials and a touch of imagination, you and your little ones can craft an array of charming animal faces.

What you need

• Bottle caps (various sizes and colours)
• Acrylic paint or markers
• Paintbrushes
• Googly eyes
• Craft glue
• Coloured paper or cardstock
• Scissors
• Pencil or pen

How to make it

1. Collect a variety of bottle caps in different sizes and colours. Make sure they are clean and dry before starting the crafting process.
2. Let your child decide which animal faces they want to create. You could go for classic animals like cats, dogs, or rabbits, or more exotic creatures like lions, owls, or even dinosaurs!
3. Paint the bottle caps with acrylic paint or use markers to create the base colour for each animal’s face. Let them dry completely.
4. Use acrylic paint, markers, or coloured paper to add features such as ears, mouths, or whiskers. Attach googly eyes.
5. Cut out shapes from coloured paper or cardstock to create additional elements like ears, beaks, or horns. Glue them onto the bottle caps.
6. Add decorative items like pom-poms for noses, feathers for hair or fur, or pipe cleaners for antennae.
7. Let the animal faces dry completely. They can be used as refrigerator magnets, wall decorations, or even glued onto bookmarks.
