German vs Japan Car Show at Nasrec set to thrill motor enthusiasts
This year, the Classic Car Show will run concurrently with the German vs Japan Show, allowing car enthusiasts to enjoy both the timeless classics and the modern modified cars.
The German vs Japan Car Show, organised by the Southside Crew Car Club and will take place at the Nasrec Expo Centre on July 9, embodies a passion for all things motoring.
Dawood Hoosein, the organiser, expresses his gratitude for the show’s growth and the dedication of those exhibitors who bring their innovative creations to the event.
Originally an extension of the Classic Car Show, which celebrates traditional classics, American muscle cars, hot rods, vintage cars, VW Beetles and buses, and sports cars from England, France and Italy, the German vs Japan segment emerged due to the immense interest in modern hot vehicles like VW Golfs, Polos, BMWs, Honda Civics, Toyota Conquest RSis and Nissan Sentras.
This year’s show promises an array of components, including the Show Ride section, the Hot Ride section and the Limbo and Dyno competition. Attendees can anticipate extravagantly modified Toyota Supras, Toyota 86s, Subarus, Honda S2000s, Mazda MX5s, as well as an impressive showcase of top-level BMWs, Porsches and Mercedes-Benzes.
In addition to these captivating displays, classic car enthusiasts will also have a treat. The Classic Car Show will run alongside the German vs Japan Show, allowing spectators to enjoy both the timeless classics and the modern modified cars.
The classic segment will feature a delightful mix of American muscle cars, customised pickup trucks and iconic British classics like MGs, Triumphs and Jaguars. A special highlight is the Chev Can Am Firenza, a South African-conceived classic, of which only 100 were ever built, known for its V8 engine power and impressive performance.
The event will also offer kids’ play areas, a flea market, helicopter rides, and thrilling drifting at the Nasrec skid pan to add to the excitement.
Tickets can be purchased at the gate at R100 for adults and R30 for children under 12. Booking through Computicket offers discounted prices of R80 for adults and R20 for children. On-site parking is available at R30.
