Bolivia Estate hosted a noon tea party last Thursday to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of charity workers and their organisations.
Bolivia Estate co-owner, Dawie Botes welcomed the guests representing more than 50 organisations at work in and around the city and said that the event was a small gesture to show that the input of charity workers and their organisations is appreciated. “Bolivia Estate has an open door for charities in our area and we are always available to assist where possible. We endeavour to promote the sterling work that many people are doing behind the scenes and want to recognise their selfless efforts towards the well-being of our fellow citizens that are in need,” Botes said.
Programme Director and guest speaker, Solly Hassen said that the essence of charity work was just to do what you have to without asking how one will personally benefit. “Never ask what is in it for yourself, because you will be disappointed,” Hassen advised.
