COTH Polokwane gives disadvantaged family a house

Founder and President of Church On The Hill (COTH) Apostle Vincent Lephoko handed over a fully furnished three bed-roomed house to the Masekwameng family in Solomondale on Tuesday as part of the church’s 67 minutes for Madiba celebration.
The family of three, headed by 51-year-old Anna Masekwameng, has been living in a shack for the past seven years. Masekwameng is a quadriplegic.
Anna’s Son Seema Masekwameng, a congregant of COTH, said the church had approached the family after a senior member saw the conditions they were living in. The church then raised funds to build them the house. “I am glad that I can finally live in a decent home. I want to thank God for His grace and the church for the selfless act,” Seema said.
Lephoko urged the Masekwameng family to use the house to rise up and become the people that God had created them to be. “They must keep it clean and take care of it because there are many families in South Africa who don’t have houses. We chose this family because it is one of many in the community that are struggling and if God blesses us we will take care of other families and share our resources with the rest of South Africa,” Lephoko said.
Pastor Vusi Mashabane of COTH Polokwane congregation said they were grateful that the Masekwameng family now have a decent roof over their head. “We felt as a church we should respond to a clarion call made by Nelson Mandela that is in our hands now let inspire change and make people’s lives brighter, bigger and better. We hope that they will enjoy their life and move forward. Like Jesus said every sheep needs a shepherd and we were there. The family was quite destitute and they needed a structure and a shelter,” Mashabane said.
