EFF unhappy with public health facilities

Members of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) were chanting outside the Seshego Hospital yesterday (Wednesday) as they handed over a memorandum of grievances to acting Chief Executive Officer of the facility, Rebecca Matentjie.
The grievances include that more medical doctors and nurses have to be appointed and conditions at the reception area be improved. Speakers were constantly interrupted by a group of so-called ‘nyaope boys’ who alleged that a male nurse stationed at the hospital assaulted them whenever they request medication (Methadone). They were pleading with to Matenjie to discipline the nurse.
The group of addicts stay in a shack in nearby Juju Valley that is regarded as a rehabilitation centre and being supervised by EFF ward 13 councillor, Ramaphoko Mongatane.
EFF Capricorn Regional Secretary Oscar Motolla indicated that the party regards 2018 as the year for public health and they were going to hand over memorandums to various public health institutions including the Department of Health. He further said they were sick and tired of the state of health facilities in the province and further pledged that the party would push the department until things improve.
